Best 1v1 Video Chat Apps and what each one costs you

A 1v1 video chat app puts you on camera with exactly one other person, usually a stranger, and lets either side move on. This list covers the best 1v1 apps and sites I could confirm exist in October 2026: what each asks before the first call, and where the money comes in. Just1v1 is ours, so it goes first, weak spots included. Everything else is described from the services' own pages and store listings. No invented ratings.

What makes something a 1v1 video chat app?

Two things: you talk to one person at a time, and the camera is the main way you talk. Group rooms, crowd live streams and swipe-only dating apps are different products, even when they borrow the word. Most 1 on 1 chat sites add text and voice on top of video, and nearly all are free to open and paid further in.

The short version, in one table

Here is how seven 1 on 1 video chat sites compare on the things that shape your first ten minutes. Details come from each homepage, FAQ or store listing as of October 2026. "Not stated" means the page did not say, not that the feature is missing.

Seven 1v1 chat alternatives worth a look

If you are hunting for websites like 1v1 chat because yours got pricey or slow, start here. Each entry says what the service does well and what it asks in return. None is perfect, ours included.

1. Just1v1

Runs in the browser. Pick video, voice or text, get one person, tap Next to move on. Guests start without an account. First-timers get a handful of matches on the house; stay online longer and the Reward Center adds more. After that, coins. Calls are not recorded, every screen carries Report and Block, and messages translate with one tap.

The weak spots: no gender filter, so random means random. No group rooms. No store app either, though the site pins to a phone home screen as a 1v1 chat app. Curious where the coins kick in? See is Just1v1 free. Try a 1v1 chat as a guest, or read how a 1 on 1 cam call works first.

2. 1v1Chat (1v1chat.me)

The name most people mean when they search for a 1v1 chat alternative. It offers video, audio and text chat, an Android app and real-time translation. You sign up first; new accounts get free gold coins, and VIP adds longer video time, filters and gifts. Feature-rich, but there is an account wall.

3. Bloop

Coin-based and plain about it. Browsing and text are free, video uses coins, and new users get some coins plus daily tasks. Its site says there is no VIP tier and no auto-renewal. A bloop 1v1 video call, or a bloop 1v1 chat by text, needs a Google or email account. Three matching styles and translation into dozens of languages.

4. Meetchi

The closest to old-school random video: open it in a browser as a guest, get one stranger, press Next. Basic matching is free; a paid Gold plan unlocks gender and region filters. Mini games fill the wait. If you want a gender filter and accept a subscription for it, this is the clearest option here.

5. Mixu

Plenty of people find it by typing 1v1 chat mixu. Mixu works in the browser without a download and also has an app. VIP unlocks First Impressions, a 10-second preview where a heart tap extends the call, and Card Chat, a swipe mode. The free tier is usable; the distinctive features sit behind VIP.

6. Aveola

Less a 1v1 tool, more a small social network: video chat, live streams, stories and messages under one account, on web, iOS and Android. It has a Safety Hub with reporting tools. Pricing was not spelled out on the pages I read, so check the purchase terms first.

7. Hay

Hay (hay.fun) pitches an Omegle-style random video and text chat with filters for gender, region and interests, real-time translation and AI moderation against bots. Its homepage did not say whether you need an account or what anything costs. Find out before you get attached.

The phone apps that show up in the same searches

These store listings come up next to the web services above. I did not rank them because their own websites were thin or missing.

  • Tigo Live: an App Store app from Tigo Live Co., Limited for random live video chat with message translation.
  • ParaU: "ParaU - Talk Live" on the App Store, published by LBE TECH US LIMITED.
  • Fachat: "Fachat: Online Video Chat" on the App Store, free with in-app purchases.
  • Vava: an Android app from GoParty Team for private video and voice calls with translation.
  • Olamet: a Google Play developer page lists its video chat apps.

Before you pay any of them

Check three things before buying coins anywhere: who runs the service, whether there is a privacy policy you can read, and whether you can delete your account. If an app only exists as an APK on a mirror site, skip it. Updates and refunds will not reach you.

Inside any call the rules are the same. Do not move to another app because a stranger asks, never send money or gift cards, and use Report and Block when something feels off. The is 1v1 chat safe guide covers the warning signs.

So which one should you open tonight?

Want a gender filter and fine with a subscription? Meetchi. Want features and an account anyway? 1v1Chat or Bloop. Want to see who is on camera before committing to anything? Just1v1 lets you start as a guest right away. There is no single best 1v1 video call app, only the one whose trade-offs annoy you least.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is the best 1v1 video call website?

It depends on what you want to avoid. Just1v1 and Meetchi let you start without an account, Meetchi sells a gender filter, and 1v1Chat and Bloop give new accounts free coins. Compare where each one starts charging.

Is there a 1 on 1 chat site that needs no sign-up?

Yes. Just1v1 lets guests start matching right away, and Meetchi allows basic web matching as a guest. Most others ask for a Google or email account before the first call.

What are the best one on one cam sites for talking, not watching?

Pick random one-to-one matching over live shows. On the best 1 on 1 cam site for conversation, the other person has their camera on too. Just1v1, Meetchi, Mixu and Hay all work that way.

Are apps like 1v1 chat free?

They are free to start. Each one charges at some point, through coins, a VIP plan or a subscription. Read the pricing page before entering card details.

Is 1v1 video call solla or chillhub safe to download?

We could not find an official site or a current store listing for either, so we cannot vouch for them. Only install apps from the official App Store or Google Play, and avoid APK mirror sites.
